The Squad: Coach and Key Players

The head coach is to be appointed. And that is another big gap to observe. Argentina faced some issues after Qatar and whoever enters that technical role has big expectations placed on him, especially having replaced Lionel Scaloni.

And this is where it gets intriguing. The squad for this showdown features some familiar international names, as well as a few surprises:

Alvarez's is an important role. He's likely to dart intelligent runs in behind defences, leaving space for the likes of Messi and the incoming midfielders. Realistic Expectations

Group J shouldn't trouble Argentina significantly, all Algeria, Austria, and Jordan can produce talent of enough quality to produce an upset against a world champion.
